FAMOUS QUOTES
"A dead cow or sheep lying in the pasture is recognized as carrion.
The same sort of carcass dressed and hung up in a butchers stall passes as food." -J.H.Kellogg
"It is just like mans impertinence to call an animal dumb because it is dumb to his dull perceptions." -Mark Twain
"Wild animals never kill for sport. Man is the only one to whom the torture and death of his fellow creatures is amusing in itself." -James Anthony Froude
"Vegetarianism is the taproot of humanitarianism. A man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; therefore,
if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite.
And to act so is immoral as it involves the performance of an act which is contrary to moral feeling - killing." -Tolstoy
"The question is not 'can they reason?' nor 'Can they talk? but,
'can they suffer?'" -Jeremy Bentham
"I do not want to make my stomach a graveyard of dead animals." -George Bernard Shaw.
"Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages." -Thomas A. Edison
"It is my view that the vegetarian manner of living, by its purely physical
effect on the human temperament, would most beneficially influence the lot of mankind.
" -Albert Einstein
"my mind, the life of a lamb is no less precious than that of a human being.
The more helpless the creature, the more it is entitled to protection by man from the
cruelty of man." -Mahatma Gandhi, 1869 - 1948

***Do not assume the foods being offered are animal ingredient free.
Always be friendly and patient when inquiring if offered foods are suitable for vegans to consume***
-Many establishments use animal-based stock in their vegetable soups, some cook rice in chicken broth, so be wary!
-Common sense: if the dish uses the words alfredo, cream of this or that, it probably contains dairy.
-An item may be marketed as Vegan or Vegetarian, but may very well be cooked on the same grill,
or deep-fried in the oil that the flesh is.
