HELP STOP THE SEAL HUNT

Canada's annual seal 'hunt' is the largest slaughter of marine mammals on the planet.

In 2006 the Canadian government allowed fishermen to club and shoot at least 354,344 seals in the North Atlantic just to earn a few extra bucks by selling seal skins.

In fact 98 percent of the seals killed were three months of age or younger, and veterinary reports indicate that many seals have been skinned while still conscious and able to feel pain. (Source: Humane Society of the United States)

This blood sport survives solely through propaganda, such as; "seals are responsible for eating and depleted the cod stocks" - whereas the truth is that seals eat the fish which prey upon the cod[in others words; more seals = more cod]. The real culprits are over-fishing and loss of their own food supply.

To end the seal 'hunt', the animals need your voice.

Send a message to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and tell him that you oppose the government-subsidized seal 'hunt' and want him to end it immediately.

Handwritten letters have more impact than email. Send your letter today and remember letters to parliament are postage-free!

Recent Poll: The majority of Canadians not only want the seal 'hunt' ended, but they also want the government to stop wasting our Tax-Dollars on subsidizing the annual baby-massacre and propagating their seal-slaughter agenda in the EU.

FAMOUS QUOTES

"True human goodness, in all its purity and freedom, can come to the fore when its recipient has no power.
Humanity's true moral test (which lies deeply buried from view), consists of its attitude towards those who are at our mercy; animals.
And in this respect humankind has suffered a fundamental debacle, a debacle so fundamental that all others stem from it.
"
-Milan Kundera

To expose bear bile farming cruelty, the travelling campaign features a mechanical life-like bear display which is a replica of one of China's caged bears. This mechanical bear's eyes move, a low moan emanates from within him and what appears to be bile leaks from a tube in his belly (the bile is actually cold tea). Bear bile is used in China for a variety of products including shampoo, wine and traditional Chinese medicines.
