FAMOUS QUOTES

The Story of Kensington

(The following text contains disturbing content)

In 2001, a cat was taken from the streets in Kensington Market in Toronto. Three 'men' named Jesse Power, Anthony Wennekers, and Matt Kaczorowski committed the most despicable acts of cruelty – and video taped it. The cat was strung up by her neck, and while fully conscious she suffered the unimaginable. Her throat was slit, she was disemboweled, skinned alive and her eye was removed with dental tools. She was also stabbed and pinned to the wall with a buck knife. She was eventually decapitated. The cat was later named Kensington.

Under Canada's (current) 1892 animal cruelty law, the individuals involved only received jail time served on weekends, house arrest, community service and probation.

Please contact Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Minister of Justice Rob Nicholson, and your Member of Parliament and let them you think Canada’s animal cruelty law clearly needs updating. It is time to stop letting animal abusers get away with murder.

Kiki

[Photo of Kiki the dog who was beaten so savegely, she had to be put down. Windsor police investigated after people witnessed Qu Li/Lu Qi throwing her against a fire hydrant as 'training' while out for a walk.]

Kiki, a four-month-old husky pup, was beaten to the verge of death in Windsor the morning of April 14, 2008. The staff at WECHS were forced to be the angels of mercy for this poor little girl.

Find out how you can help.

Justice for Abused Animals in Windsor

WAAG @ Qi Lu's pre-trail.
***UPDATE*** Qi Lu's trial has been set for June 1st and 5th, 2009. Let's organize a big rally outside of the courthouse both days.
Everyone and their dogs are encouraged to come out to show that this community is still outraged about this vicious crime and want Qi Lu to face the maximum penalty possible under the law.
More information will be posted next year about the rally being planned.
