WHAT IS A VEGAN?

A vegan is a person who does not use or consume any animal products (no meat, fish, chickens, dairy, eggs, fur, leather etc). Sometimes vegans are also known as 'strict vegetarians'. We reject the Perpetual Holocaust and refuse to fund/support the undeclared war on life.

Vegans (vee-guns) believe that by adopting a lifestyle that is free (as much as possible) from using animal products, it is the most effective thing they can do to put an immediate end to animal suffering.

In today's society it is very easy to live a vegan lifestyle. There is a wide selection of vegan foods, including soy, rice and almond milk, ice cream, cereals, wraps, sauces, spreads and entrees available at most grocery stores.

There is also a wide variety of vegan online stores who sell cool non-leather shoes, belts, personal care products and even gelatin-free marshmallows and candies! (If you don't know what gelatin is made of look it up!)

If you would like to go vegan, there are a ton of online resources and books available. Do your homework and open your mind to a whole new and exciting way of living!

"Do we, as humans, having the ability to reason and to communicate abstract ideas verbally and in writing, and to form ethical and moral judgements using the accumulated knowledge of the ages, have the right to take th lives of sentient organisms, particularly when we are not forced to by hunger or dietary need, but rather do so for the frivolous reason that we 'like' the taste of meat?
In essence, should we know better?
"
-Peter Cheeke, PhD

"Veganism has given me a higher level of awareness and spirituality."
-Dexter Scott King, son of Rev. MLK jr.
